My Background

Paul is largely self - taught, though has studied Art and Design for two years at a college in Nottingham in the early 1990s and from then has had many Exhibitions in England and Wales at Art festivals.

Creates oil paintings that is an amalgamation of memories and observations, also ideas from early movies.

He is an early film historian and has three books published on silent film performers.

He has worked in Occupational Therapy and as an Activiites Coordinator which consists mainly in creative arts.

My Medium AND INSPIRATION

My chosen medium is exclusively in oils on canvas or board with a variety of brush work,with thick and thin,loose and detailed with effortless movements from direct observation depiction of vivid natural life of people in everyday life and occasionally dramatic and comic situations. With a focus of delicate quality of light that gives my paintings a sense of quiet drama and immediate freshness, with an influence of style of traditional academy classic. Historicism and i also like to paint in a contemporary techniques of whatever im thinking about that day goes into my work,almost like a visual diary.
